Below is a list of the campus policies & guidelines that all event coordinators and participants are required to follow.

All events on campus should also follow the Time, Place and Manner of Free Expression Policy.

Event organizers are responsible for making arrangements for event participants who have disabilities. While some accommodations can be made on the fly, others, such as interpreters or captioning, may take time and/or require specialized equipment. Humboldt Student Disability Resources Center (SDRC) suggests that the following language is included on the event promotional materials thus giving the event organizers the opportunity to make necessary arrangements in advance:

“Persons who wish to request disability-related accommodations should contact the [event organizer] at [organizer’s phone #] or [organizer’s email] as soon as possible. Some accommodations may take up to several weeks to arrange.”

Student Disability Resource Center can only assist registered, matriculated Humboldt students with academic accommodations. Although SDRC may not be able to provide services for events, its staff is available for a consultation. You may contact the SDRC staff at: (707) 826-4678. Additionally, review the Community Resources page on SDRC website for more resources.
